“What lies behind us and what lies before us, are small matters compared to what lies within us.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson

I know from my own personal journey,  that choosing to heal and commit to a daily rhythm that cultivates healthy habits and practices, is not easy.  Paradoxically, it is also the most life affirming and freedom enhancing path to a vibrant and harmonious life.

Mental and physical health require our time, patience and heartfelt dedication, as well as a nurturing environment in which to explore our inner world, or as in the above quote,  “what lies within us.”

This is counter to living in a technological age where it is all about the “quick fix”, upgrading, doing it faster and better.  We are wrapped up in regrets from the past, anxiously striving and worrying about the future, and living in fear of missing out.

We must re-learn to affirm the life that is within us, in the present moment, while also making space to hold what is dark, scary, hard, fast, quick, painful, and unimaginable.  We must re-learn to slow down, to awaken our senses, to pause, feel, and be grateful.  We must remember that when we slow down, we accomplish so much more.   Nature is always showing us the way, our slow and steady teacher, who resides in the moment, adapting and flowing with the weather and environment,  yet never losing the essence of being, of purposeful growth, clarity and unwavering reverence.

What people are saying:

  • I’ve had the privilege of taking classes with Heidi over the last ten years and consider my time on the mat with her one of my greatest gifts. Heidi is an exceptional yoga teacher whose approach integrates mind, body and soul. She weaves together inspiring readings and wisdom with thoughtful and nurturing instruction that foster strength and wellbeing inside and out! I am in awe of Heidi’s talent as a yoga instructor and for her capacity to share so much with us in her online live classes,  in person classes and with her recordings. Each and every class I have taken with Heidi has left me feeling more peaceful and positive on and off the mat. I am so grateful that she shares her beautiful and special talent with the world.

  • 5 years ago at the age of 72, I was not a yoga “regular”. I had just hiked Mt Abe, when my friend Patricia suggested that we go to Heidi’s Restorative Yoga class in Shelburne.  I thought some Advil and a beer is what I needed more!  Well, we hurriedly drove on Friday night rush hour to Heidi’s studio and I was hooked immediately!  The setting was peaceful, the music mesmerizing, and the five poses were SO wonderful.  I didn’t need meds, a hot tub, massage, or wine,  just a simple yoga class.  Since then I have enjoyed many many of Heidi’s classes in her studios and on-line.  I have enjoyed every class. Her classes inspire, invigorate, relax, and of course stretch my body, AND my mind and breath as well.  Thank you Heidi!

  • Most people seek out a yoga class because they need to increase their flexibility. Conversely, my body is hyper-flexible and I go to yoga for containment and strength. Heidi’s teaching focuses on correct alignment first, then  movement into strength building and flexibility. It is the perfect antidote for my injured lower back and my stretched out ligaments, and I am in significantly less pain because I practice yoga with her. The bonus is her wisdom, shared gently and with kindness..…and her down to earth humor. There are usually as many giggles as there are groans, as we work ourselves through her carefully thought out classes. I have practiced with her for over 12 years and I look forward to many more.

  • Heidi is an amazingly gifted, compassionate, and intuitive yoga instructor who meets her students where they are and helps them to reach new levels in physical and inner growth.  I have taken classes with Heidi for approximately 10 years through which time she has helped me with a number of life transitions.  Heidi’s yoga classes, whether in person or virtually, have not only expanded my flexibility and a sense of balance but also brought me a sense of peace and joy.  She has helped me to understand the true spirit of yoga.  Coming from an active gym workout routine  and hectic work life this was no easy transition.  I have recently had an excellent recovery from knee and hip replacement due in large part to Heidi’s help and encouragement.  I look forward to taking classes with Heidi for many years to come and recommend her to anyone looking to enrich their yoga practice and more.

  • I have been taking yoga classes from Heidi for probably close to 6 years on a regular basis. Not only is she inspirational with a theme for each of her classes, she gives detailed instruction which lets the student know which muscles to engage and how to tell if you’ve done it right.  Now that her classes are virtual, I tend to find the ones I love and do those over and over and I can do them as many times as I want, when I want, without leaving my house!!  It’s perfect!   I can, without hesitation, recommend Heidi Kvasnak as the ONLY yoga instructor you’ll ever need or want!!

  • Heidi has been my yoga teacher for many years. In the past, I had the pleasure to participate in her lovely classes and also benefit from private restorative sessions in her studio; these days, I am fortunate to receive her guidance, insight and wisdom in the comfort of my home. Heidi has the talent to know what is needed to feel better; at the end of each session, I am re-energized, serene and centered. Her passion for yoga and helping others is truly a gift!
